Due to limitations in state and grant funding, we are no longer able to offer compensation to conference presenters. However, all presenters will receive the discounted registration fee offered to Partner School Members:
$75 Presenter Registration Fee (Discounted to $50 before March 20) Includes full conference participation, including overnight accommodation in a private room at the Q Center, all meals, and attendance in all Friday and Saturday conference sessions ($500 value).
What to expect:

The STEAM Maker Fair is an exhibition-style showcase of innovative programs, classroom activities, and creative maker projects for the broader STEAM education community.

The event will take place from approximately 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. in the St. Charles Ballroom at the Q Center. Tables will be set up in a gallery walk format throughout the room.

All Maker Fair stations are expected to be highly interactive and, if applicable, allow participants to make and/or take an activity to bring back to their classrooms. Take-away lesson plans are encouraged. Please plan your activities so that participants can engage with your station for several minutes at a time.

In the past, the STEAM Maker Fair has engaged between 100-150 participants.
What to bring:

Posters, signs, or personalized tablecloth if preferred (standard black skirted table will be provided)
Setup:

You will be provided with an 8-foot table and two chairs, with 1-2 feet of additional space on either side.

Please contact us if you have additional needs for your station (additional space/chairs/tables, electricity, projector, etc.). We will do our best to accommodate special requests within the resources available.
Arrival:

Presenters may arrive as early as 3:00 p.m. to begin setting up for the STEAM Maker Fair. Please note that dinner runs from 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m., and the STEAM Maker Fair runs from approximately 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. (exact times subject to change).
Saturday Presenters
(Skill-Building Workshops)
What to expect:

Skill-Building Workshops are breakout classroom sessions featuring highly interactive, hands-on demonstrations of STEAM-related projects or curricula that can be immediately implemented in the a K-12 classroom setting.

Sessions are 75 minutes in length and will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2019, during the following time slots:

9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.

10:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

Presenters will be informed of the time slot(s) for which they are expected to present before the conference, with as much advance notice as possible. If you are unable to present during any of the time slots listed above, please make note of that in your proposal.

Setup:

Room arrangements will be in 5 "pods" (tables) of 6 seats each, with a presentation table in the front of the room. Sessions are expected to have 15-25 participants.

Each room will be equipped with a projector and speakers, as well as a PC laptop. Presenters who choose to bring their own laptop should ensure that VGA connection is possible (Mac users please bring your own converter cable).

Internet access is available upon request. Computers that have already been given internet access will be labeled.

Please contact us if you have additional needs for your workshop (additional space/chairs/tables, more powerful speakers, etc.). We will do our best to accommodate special requests within the resources available.
Arrival:

All presenters are encouraged to attend the entire conference, beginning on Friday, April 27th, in order to develop strong relationships with other conference participants.

If you are unable to attend the entire conference, please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of your session to set up. You will be notified of your assigned presentation time slot as soon as possible. If you are UNABLE to present during any of the session time slots listed, please contact us as soon as possible.
